Being Available

Daily Dose-blue

This should not be an option.

In general, I try to answer my emails within 24 hours. Usually it’s a lot less, sometimes it’s more. However, I’m also easily tracked down. My emails have my business phone in them, I can be reached via Facebook Messenger, I can be private messaged at Digital Webbing, I can be direct messaged on Twitter. I can be reached, and I will respond. That’s what a professional does.

I don’t drop off the face of the Earth or avoid people. Some things may slip through the cracks, but I generally pick up the pieces, apologize, and keep it moving.

I’m available. I’m always available.

Can you say the same thing? If not, why not? Once you understand why you’re not “available”, you’ll be able to move in a direction that you want, instead of letting forces dictate to you.
